.. because it was just not what I was expecting.
Also, please skip to paragraph 3 if you don’t want to read about my Maysanity
Hey all and hoping everybody is being their best self at this time, I for one have had quite a tough May in terms of my mental health that I’m even thinking about calling it Maysanity, you know, May and insanity?
Although I am feeling a lot better than I was 24 hours ago, a lot of it went away by just talking it over with somebody. I highly recommend upping your social life safely and from a distance and speak to a friend or family member you haven’t spoken to in a while, that, or you can just dye your hair another colour because you didn’t like it the first time.
About 3 weeks ago I decided to dye my hair blue, specifically Voodoo Blue from Manic panic and of course being the lazy person and the most clueless about hair dye person ever, I didn’t strip my hair enough to get the blue I wanted. Whilst, still blue with green tinges, it eventually just started turning pure emerald green. (Wish I had a photo)
I really thought I could just live with having the green fade, however a colleague of mine commented on the colour and I normally don’t let things people say get to me, however just coming down from maysanity, this comment just hit hard and brings me to the point of this post. Colourless Hair Colour Remover is a thing!
I apologise if I am the only one having a moment to freak out that a. this product exists and b. that IT WORKS! With just googling some reviews it seemed like it worked for majority of the people who used it. The package does say it removes black, brown, red dye along with build up, but with my green hair I really wasn’t sure it was going to remove the colour at all, but turns out it does!
My hair colour was highlighted prior to the green so I managed to only use half of the product as opposed to the whole thing and it still worked. I am definitely saving the other half because they all come in screw tight containers and I only poured what I needed into a tint bowl.
In terms of the smell, I personally don’t mind it, whilst it does smell a little chemically, to me, it’s not as strong as the boxed dyes that I’ve bought and used before. I do recommend a really good conditioner after this and a good combing after to catch any natural shedding.
I am so so happy I found this product, it just means I can be more experimental with the colours I use to dye my hair and I hope this helps you out with your hair colour dying troubles and although my hair is looking brassy (because it was brassy before I dyed it green), I’m so happy the green is gone!
I’ll see you guys in a few days for June’s bullet journal, it’s going to be a heavy drawing based one. YAY!
