Bullet Journal: September 2020

Spring has sprung!

I for one am not mentally prepared to comprehend that it is officially September, the start of Spring here ion Australia and my birthday month! A big BIG Happy BIRTHDAY to all the September babies out there, I have quite a few friends who celebrate their birthday this month, so I know I will be busy!

To celebrate all the birthday’s this month, I figured a party themed bullet journal was appropriate, so let’s get into it.

I definitely needed this particular quote this month..

The purpose of our lives is to be HAPPY – The Dalai Lama

Looking back to where I was travelling in September last year, has really made me miss that luxury of travel. The uncertainty of when we will be able to travel again has really taken a big hit in life’s motivation for myself and I think this quote highlights even though we have those moments, we’re meant to be happy and about focusing on the good.

September – ” The purpose of our lives is to be HAPPY” – The Dalai Lama

I decided to change up the monthly calendar spread this month, I know it’s going to be busy and productive, so I’ve left a full page for my goals, my to do list and notes.

This vertical calendar will be an interesting one for me to work through, here’s hoping I don’t get my days mixed up.

Now of course, what is a celebration without cake? I have been obsessed with baking things in my minibake oven this quarantine and I’m still kicking myself that I haven’t shared any recipes on here.

I’ve combined my weight and habits tracker again, with the weight tracker being filled in every week on a layer of cake and the habits surrounding the cake in little present shapes. Quite proud of this little spread.

September - Weight and Habits Tracker

September – Weight and Habits Tracker

I’ve decided to go back to the split expenses tracker this month. The small flip column for any business expenses and one full page for personal expenses.

You’ll probably also notice that the horoscope page is also where a mood/chart tracker should be. I’ve decided to skip that tracker this month as I kept leaving days where I didn’t track anything and I just want to see if I’ll end up missing it as a part of my routine.

To finish off this month, I wanted to bring back Kodak Moments mixed in with Dear September in a two page spread. I cut up some coloured paper and pink tissue paper to create very large confetti sized shapes to make it feel more like a party.

I’m hoping everybody has a Happy September, it has been a very odd week leading up to the beginning of this month, emotions have been high and if you’re feeling down, trust me you’re not alone, we can only look for positives during this time and know that whatever you’re feeling will pass.

Stay safe everyone!

Bullet Journal: AUGUST 2020

It’s LEO season babyyy and a big Happy Birthday to all the Leo’s out there.

If you read the title and thought, oh my, another month has gone by, I can tell you I’m just as shocked as you are.

This Winter here in Australia, we have seriously been blessed with some great weather, cold at nights, but with the sun shining with blue skies most days, it feels so nice to be able to explore the outdoors.

One big thing that I’ve been doing this past month is going on hikes with the fam and of course keeping a safe distance from everybody that is out and about. I wanted to dedicate the month of August to the outdoors, adventuring, hiking and just enjoying nature.

The quote for this month is..

It’s not the mountain we conquer, but ourselves

I seriously love this quote and I know I probably say that every month, but this is such a true reflection of what being around nature feels like and reflecting on what you’ve just achieved when you’ve made it up that incline.

August 2020 - It's not the mountain we conquer, but ourselves

August 2020 – It’s not the mountain we conquer, but ourselves

I tried something different for this month’s monthly calendar spread. It clearly has not been particularly busy for myself these past few months, I wanted to try this mixed layout and list spread.

August: Monthly Spread

Combining my habit and weight tracker has just been the best thing to come out of my bullet journalling and below I do just that. I also used a paintbrush  to give some texture to the page and tried to make it look like gravel and bits of grass and dirt.

August: Habit and Weight Tracker

August: Weight and Habit Tracker -Took this drawing inspo from a really tough hiking trail I did in June

For my Charting this month, I just couldn’t help myself and draw up a combined mood and chart spread. I feel like I may already regret it, considering I do usually write a bit more when it comes to charting, but we’ll see how it goes.

Expense tracking has also come a really fun thing for me and surprisingly that little space for expenses is totally enough, well at least for July it was.

August: Charting and Expenses

August: Charting and Expenses – Hoping that will be one colourful mountain once August is over

Ending off the spread for August, I drew a couple of moon phases for my horoscope and Dear August page, because there’s nothing like seeing that bright shining moon at night.

Hope you all enjoyed this month’s spread and as always Take care of each yourselves and each other.

One aesthetic hike: Figure Eight Pools

Seriously love a good hike and clearly you do too if you're reading this or maybe you just like looking at some nice pics, regardless you're in for a treat.

I’ve been really missing holiday hiking these past 5 months. Wherever I travel to, I always seem to end up going on a hike and yes, some on purpose and the occasional accidental one. There is no better feeling then finally reaching your destination and stopping to admire the beauty of nature and of course, yes,  I  totally enjoyed the walk along the way yadda yadda yadda.

Figure Eight Pools

Figure Eight Pools

A couple of weeks ago, I went on a hike to the Figure Eight pools located in Sydney’s Royal National Park. This particular hike has been on my sister’s bucket list for quite some time and due to the hike only being recommended during low tide, I can completely understand why.

Figure Eight Pool Hiking Trail

Figure Eight Pool Hiking Trail

I took a few photos a long the way and wanted to share it with all of you. It’s definitely a nice little spot to have a bit of light lunch and dip into the figure eight pools as well. When I first got there, the pool was tiny and not going to lie with the crashing of the waves so close by I was having a bit of a hard time exploring it further.

Taking that break to appreciate and admire

The walk down from the car park and  past the beach was seemingly easy, and if you’ve read the reviews from this hike, it is a STEEP hike back up. Every time I go swimming at the beach I’m always so tired by the end of the day and I honestly can’t imagine walking back up after a swim here or even at the beach you pass to get there.

Burning Palms Beach

Burning Palms Beach

Although it was steep, I managed to get through it with only a couple of breaks (I’d like to thank my HIIT workouts)  and my advice is really just to breathe while you stride through it. The rocks do get a bit slippery at times, so please be careful where you step, but overall a hike I would do again, even that long bumpy road just to get to the car park.

I’ve also linked the site we used to navigate our way here and Happy Friday everybody, hoping we all enjoy our weekends and stay safe as always.

See you all for the August bullet journal!I can’t believe I actually typed that!

Bullet Journal: JULY 2020

We are officially 7 months into 2020, and I speak for everyone when I say really?

Happy July everybody! I’ve had such a busy June that I didn’t even get a chance to post anything else. It’s crazy to think that it is July already and unsure about how everybody else feels, but it really, truly does feel like we’re taking it one day at a time and wondering if there will be an end to this pandemic.

I for one have really dived into my creativity side during this time and bullet journalling has become one of my all time favourite things to do. There’s nothing like some alone time with your favourite music playing, a candle lit up (It’s Winter where I am) and a nice cup of tea or coffee, personally am a fan of both.

July’s bullet journal is all about organisation, as mentioned it was a busy June and I expect July to be just as busy creatively and in a business sense.

I LOVE this quote..

Challenging myself to do great things really helps me to put aside the current situation we are all living through and even better, helps me to achieve things I never knew I could.

July - Monthly calendar

July – Monthly calendar

July’s monthly spread is a simple noticeboard layout with a notes and to do list on the side drawn as if it was pinned to a noticeboard or even poster, not really sure what I did there, but I went with it.

July Weight and Habit Tracker

I’ve really been enjoying combining my weight and habit tracker across two pages and am obsessed with this layout for the month. It all seems so organised in a weird kind of way.

July Charting & Expenses

I don’t know how I did it, but I managed to keep all my expenses on the one page, this really is just motivation to spend less as I won’t have any room to write it down. My Charting page mimics 2 little desk stands I have and I also noticed… I really like drawing books.

Dear July & Horoscope page

Dear July & Horoscope page

Last but least my Horoscope and Dear July page is just very simple because it’s going to get a lot of action, I can already tell.

Again, Happy July guys and when in doubt hike it out. 🙂
