Dear Diary: New changes to the life

17 days into the new year and I’m already off to a new job, same place but more opportunities for growth. I am so bitter sweet about leaving my old position because I got used to the routine and being able to help all the new people that came on board and well yeah, I cry a little, but in saying that I think for anybody it’s really difficult to deal with change sometimes especially when it affects your life.

I’m also losing my good friend Jemma who is leaving the company altogether and is going off to do something completely different to beauty and I really do hope that she finds her passion for it again, because she is such an amazing person to work with and always made my day at work, but life is definitely a journey and we all have to what’s best for ourselves in the end.

In celebration of her new job and my new position, we had a lovely dinner the other night with a few other friends and we just chatted and had a blast of a time! We went to a little place called Lid & Jar and it was amazing.

I always pass this place and want to try it so my friend spontaneously booked it the other night and the food was delicious, the atmosphere was beautiful and vibrant and I loved being there!

I also enjoyed this delicious slow cooked pork with mashed potatoes and sauteed mushrooms, words can’t even describe how yummy this was and of course a cocktail on the side.

Dear Diary: The bows are at it again!

Kicking off the new year with some new jewellery and we all know the best time to shop is after christmas where all the sales are happening and christmas gifts need to be sold out and well there I go looking for some (alot of) stuff to buy.

I had a really pretty gold bracelet that I used to wear every single day, I never even took it off when I had a shower and it was pretty much attached to me, until 4 years later it decided to break and it was one of a kind and I mourned over that bracelet because my aunty gave it to me. I’ve never been able to find anything like that bracelet so I just let it be and stopped wearing jewellery altogether.

I love simple pieces of jewellery nothing too chunky or out there and with my current obsession with bows, I’ve just been drawn to anything with a bow on it lately, so that’s why Kate Spade is just so amazing to me right now.

I’ve been eyeing these Kate Spade earrings for the longest of time and when it was further reduced, I was more than happy to buy them and put them on my ears. I also found this really cute bow bracelet with a little gem in the middle at David Jones which looks so dainty and perfect and one of my new favourites and on sale at$5.38 AUD.  I will now be wearing this for the rest of my life… I hope.

Obsessing with the bows again!!

Dear Diary: My H&M experience..

.. and another new store that I’ve heard nothing about.. EVER!

Shopping

Why I decided to go shopping on a weekend is beyond me. I have it my head that it won’t be that bad or crowded or chaotic but I was so, so wrong.

Last Sunday I headed over to the new H&M store in Sydney at Macquarie Park. Being a H&M frequenter when I was in L.A a few years back, I and probably three quarters of sydney siders were excited about this store opening! When I got there, there were two levels of the longest line just to get in. Now, it wasn’t that bad, we probably waited about 15 minutes to get in and they did let quite a lot of people in which was good but also pretty intense after a while.

I couldn’t even be bothered with the fitting room lines and I probably walked around the store 5 times just to see what there was and if I missed anything. It got pretty crowded after a while, the lines for the fitting rooms were crazy and even the line to pay for the things that you wanted. At one point this stranger and I looked at each other and were like this is too much and we both talked about how we hated shopping in crowds and how we would never go to a boxing day sale.

Although I am in love with the two pair of pants I bought and a cute little cardigan, there were just way too many people inside the store, but still worth checking out. Prices were also reasonable which was good. Not going to lie though, it was a little disappointing but I know that their Winter stuff is so much better. However, it’s a great shop for basics and I will go back, just maybe when the hype dies down.

Let me know if you’ve been yet and how you liked it, I actually started talking to a lady at work who just came back from H&M ( I could tell by her shopping bag) and asked her how she liked it and even she agreed that it was hectic and that their winter stuff is better.

Also, I popped into another store called UNIQLO which was pretty cool. I grabbed some awesome work pants for a great price and would have loved to stay for longer but I was over shopping for that day and I am also done with this long blog post and until next time..

A woman’s hair is everything!

If you’re reading this and you’re currently thinking about getting your hair cut or doing something different to it, I say do it!

3 years ago, I decided that I needed a change in style and in length because I was really over my super long and thick straight black hair.

I cut my hair to a bob as seen on women such as Victoria Beckam and someone else that I clearly like a lot because I totally remember their name, and I loved it so much that I stuck with short -ish hair for 3 years until this year where I grew it out  and bought a curling iron in celebration of my long hair and was excited for the awesome curls and waves I was going to create, only to get it cut the week after I bought my curling iron… fail!

Hair is a BIG deal to a lot of ladies, when I decided to get my hair cut short, it did take a while for me to build up the courage to get it cut shorter. Due to the horrific memory when I was younger, my hair was so short that a group of boys in my school told the teacher that I was a boy that walked into the girls bathroom, clearly horrified, it still remains a moment I will never forget, but also a funny story to tell people now and also thanks mum for the fabulous hair do back then!

Now whenever I decide to get my hair cut shorter or take a whole heap of length off from it, it’s no big deal BUT it can be for some people, because I’ve been there and clearly I’ve had a pretty interesting childhood with my short hair, but my recent hair cut has left a lot of people complimenting it and wanting to take that leap of faith in trying something new with their hair which I’m really happy I could help them do because after having long hair for a while, it’s really refreshing to have something different.

Although I have to say, my curling iron hasn’t gone to complete waste, I like to create those natural waves throughout my hair and by natural I mean, it literally will drop in 20 minutes, thank you no volume hair! Anyways if you’re contemplating about getting the chop or styling it differently, do it and until next time..

Byeeee! xx.
