Revlon UltraHD matte lip colour

We all know I am the biggest sucker for lipsticks, so when something new and shiny is in my face I’m going to get it!

Not many people love matte lipsticks, most of the time they’re drying, they start to peel and crack and unfortunately anything long lasting is usually quite drying. Regardless I always like to give them a go, especially when the packaging looks like this and the lipstick is so fragrant it’s like licking a lolly, so if you’re not a huge fan of fragrant lipsticks, it might not be for you.

Whenever I see what new lipsticks are out, I always look at how many different shades there are and in this collection there are 8 shades and of course being the dark lip colour lover I am I grabbed 610HD addcition, a burgundy colour and 600HD Devotion, a mauve colour.

The pigment in this lipstick is great, it glides on super easily and building up the colour doesn’t seem to be a problem. It also holds up pretty well without any lip liner underneath or even around the lips, so bleeding of the lipstick doesn’t happen. The best part it’s actually quite long lasting and not drying at all. I normally find my lips are sucked dry like a prune by the end of the day, but I love how the gel formula moisturises my lips as well.

Although matte, it doesn’t look as matte as other lipsticks on the lips, I find it quite velvety and yes transfer occurs. It currently retails for $23.95 AUD each but definitely worth it. Colour in packaging is also quite true to what you see once applied.

Let me know if you’ve tried any of these new lipsticks and which ones you have. Not going to lie, was tempted to buy all of them.

Skin after Easter: Foreo Luna review

I’m pretty sure it’s safe to say that I’ve had way too many chocolates over this Easter break and what happens when you eat too much chocolate, you break out, well for me at least.

This blog post today, is all about my new favourite cleansing tool for my face. I am currently in love with the Foreo Luna for combination skin. Now I have been eyeing this baby out for years and I never could completely commit because it was just so out of my price range. It currently retails for $249 AUD but I do know the mini ones are $179 AUD. I found this on sale at David Jones for 30% off and you bet I jumped up and down with excitement and monkey gripped that thing until I took it to the register. Sometimes I really love sale time!

I decided to grab the Foreo Luna because even thought the mini is so cute and travel convenient, I love how the flipside of the Foreo Luna helps with the ageing process. One side is great for cleansing and getting rid of all the dirt, sweat and makeup that’s stuck in you pores but the other side helps with anti ageing just by placing them on specific points of your face, they recommend 12 seconds for each spot. I figured with a 10 year quality guarantee that when I start to get older, I will be loving this a lot more for my face and if you didn’t know that when you hit 25 years of age that’s when your anti ageing products come into play. So look for products that are global anti ageing, then you’ll know you’re covered.

When I first used this I noticed an immediate difference, my skin looked a lot more radiant and fresh. Not only did it cleanse effectively, I worry less about those little expression lines. I also realised how much makeup I was missing when washing my face with just my hands. My skin also felt super soft that I had to refrain myself from touching it. It also has 8 different speeds. A good guide I like to tell people when using cleansing tools is that the slower the speed the deeper the cleanse and the faster the speed the more superficial or on top cleansing it is.

I love how it’s 100% waterproof, non porous which means no bacteria sticks onto it, gentle on my skin and what really is amazing is that once fully charged (which only took up to one hour), you can use it up to a year before it needs to be fully charged again.

If anybody is thinking about getting this product, I highly recommend it, best life decision you will ever make and even if you’re unsure, check out the reviews on their website. Don’t forget, the cleaner your skin, the better your products will absorb.

Hopefully you’ve enjoyed this post and found out some useful information and I’ll be back with another blog soon.

Love, Caroline xx.

How I get fresh glowing skin

I think one of the best parts of my job, tiring as it is, is the fact that I get to try new products and when it comes to getting your glow on, I’m just all over that!

Somebody wise once told me that, nobody ever says wow, you’ve got beautiful, matte skin and I’m pretty sure I laughed so hard because it’s just too true, you really don’t. We all talk about that beautiful healthy glow and I mean who doesn’t want to look fresh and pretend that they eat healthy food all the time. The very first time I put this product on my face I instantly fell in love.

With a lot of products I try for the first time, I always think I’m in love with them in the beginning but then I realise it’s just not good for me in the end, like the 2 donuts I had today. I am currently using Red earth’s Illuminating Loose Powder in 01 Pearl.  This product is just amazing and unlike the bad donut decision, I don’t regret this at all.

I am a powder setter, I always finish my makeup off with powder no matter loose or pressed I pack that stuff on because it’s the only way I know my makeup will stay on throughout the day. This particular powder is so super fine that it makes your skin feel velvety soft, but even better once applied and blended throughout the skin, the luminosity appears instantly. I love how it comes with a powder puff because when you press powders into the skin, the better it sets your makeup. I team this powder up with Estee Lauder’s Double wear and for my skin it just works, not only does it look more flawless, but my skin really looks like it’s glowing.

It does also come in another shade and that is Magician which is more of a soft gold which works well on more warm tones. In saying that, there really isn’t too much colour once applied, but I can definitely see why they would have two because it can also be used on its’ own to help enhance radiance on bare skin but also used as a highlight. Make your cheekbones eat their heart out!

Let me know what your current favourite powder is or even if you’ve tried this one and until next time..

Byeeeee!!xx.

Still on holiday mode..

A few weeks ago I was exploring the beautiful country of Japan. I say a few weeks but my mind still thinks that I’m there holidaying it up but then the weather hits me here in Sydney and I realise that I’m definitely not in Tokyo anymore.

My Tokyo trip was pretty spontaneous and with a whole lot of annual leave saved up and a friend to go with, we literally booked our flights 2 weeks before departure and spent 6 of the shortest days there. FYI, a week is definitely not enough.

As much as I wish that I could have all 700 photos that I took up on this blog, I think one picture a day can recap everything we did.

Most of our trip wasn’t planned and that’s definitely unlike me to go into something without a plan. I went with the flow of things and I was surprisingly really lucky to stumble upon a few amazing places like this temple. We spent the first day exploring the city of Asakusa and later visited the Tokyo Skytree.

I was really hoping that this was some amazing outdoor tower where I could freeze my face off considering it was 0 degrees that day, but have no fear, it was all inside and pretty difficult to get a picture with there being so many people. Nonetheless, the view from it was amazing!

On our second day we of course had to do a tour at Mt. Fuji. It was such great weather and I’m so thankful I was able to see it. Surprisingly not that cold there. It was around 6 degrees at the time and super sunny.

Our tour lasted the whole day. It was a 2 hour coach ride from Tokyo, but it was such an interactive tour that time flew by. We took Sunrise tours if anybody was curious. Although, I was still pretty hungry after the lunch that was provided.

The third day was my absolute favourite. Disneyland and DisneySea completely made my trip to Tokyo! We walked through the gates into DisneySea at 8 in the morning and stayed there until 6. From 6 we headed to DisneyLand, but if I could do it again, I would definitely do a 2 day pass. Disney Sea I heard was a lot more for adults and I think that’s what tempted us to go there first. They have a huge obsession with Minnie Mouse that I went a little bit crazy when I bought my Minnie bow.

Day four we visited Shibuya and of course had to take a picture of Hachiko statue and walk the Shibuya crossing.

We also stumbled upon Alice in a Dancing Land cafe. I was way too excited when I saw it. Such a cute little spot for a catch up with the girls, but the ambience really makes you feel like you’re in Alice’s Wonderland.

Later that day we headed to Robot restaurant in Shinjuku. There is only one word that can describe it and that is WOW! It is definitely nothing like you’ve seen before

Day five, we explored the Meiji Shrine and then spent most of the day in Harajuku where I bought the prettiest kimono jacket.

We later explored Ueno. There’s a really beautiful park and we kind of just walked for hours.

On our last day we had to go crazy with shopping. My friend Rio who lives in Japan took us to Odaiba. It was so good to see her but I’m so thankful I got to spend my last day in Tokyo with her.

Probably also had the best last meal in Japan as well

I absolutely loved my Japan trip and I definitely recommend that people go there. I loved how cold it was there and if you follow me on Instagram you would have seen how crazy I went in terms of makeup shopping. The food is on another level and I’m so happy and thankful I got to experience it. Here’s hoping I get to go again.

Let me know if you enjoyed my pictures and even if you’ve been to Japan. I’d love to hear stories and until next time..
