Revlon UltraHD matte lip colour

We all know I am the biggest sucker for lipsticks, so when something new and shiny is in my face I’m going to get it!

Not many people love matte lipsticks, most of the time they’re drying, they start to peel and crack and unfortunately anything long lasting is usually quite drying. Regardless I always like to give them a go, especially when the packaging looks like this and the lipstick is so fragrant it’s like licking a lolly, so if you’re not a huge fan of fragrant lipsticks, it might not be for you.

Whenever I see what new lipsticks are out, I always look at how many different shades there are and in this collection there are 8 shades and of course being the dark lip colour lover I am I grabbed 610HD addcition, a burgundy colour and 600HD Devotion, a mauve colour.

The pigment in this lipstick is great, it glides on super easily and building up the colour doesn’t seem to be a problem. It also holds up pretty well without any lip liner underneath or even around the lips, so bleeding of the lipstick doesn’t happen. The best part it’s actually quite long lasting and not drying at all. I normally find my lips are sucked dry like a prune by the end of the day, but I love how the gel formula moisturises my lips as well.

Although matte, it doesn’t look as matte as other lipsticks on the lips, I find it quite velvety and yes transfer occurs. It currently retails for $23.95 AUD each but definitely worth it. Colour in packaging is also quite true to what you see once applied.

Let me know if you’ve tried any of these new lipsticks and which ones you have. Not going to lie, was tempted to buy all of them.

New lipsticks to the collection: Estee Lauder Liquid Lip Potion

The time has come where I need to change my storage for my lipsticks. I’m pretty sure I don’t use the half that I already have. I go through these phases where I like to wear one particular colour for a specific amount of time and then sometimes it just depends on my mood. I like to match my lipstick to my mood on the day.

My current obsession are these gorgeous Liquid lip potions by Estee Lauder.

I love the vibrancy of all 16 shades and each are extremely pigmented. I find these hydrating and although a liquid lipstick, I still notice how creamy the formula is, so it glides on so easily. I usually touch up my lips three times a day, once after I’ve had a coffee, after lunch and then around the late afternoon because people need to think that your lips look flawless even when you’re on your way home.

The only thing I do notice about this lipstick is that when the time comes to reapply and if you’re like me and unintentionally purse your lips together, there is a bit of build up on the inside where the lips meet. It’s also not and overly glossy lipstick, so don’t expect a high gloss finish, think more semi matte.

I also LOVE that these don’t bleed! As much as I love a good lip liner, sometimes a girl just doesn’t have time for that, so popping this on is really quick and easy for me. Even if you’re a fan of bright colours or you like the natural shades, there’s something for everybody.

Hopefully you’ve enjoyed this post and let me know if you’ve tried out any of these lippies and until next time…

Byeeee! xx.

An obsession with lipsticks

I have a problem … a lipstick problem.

I recently had to change the storage method I had for my lipsticks into a bigger container, which only means that I have way too many lipsticks and there’s still more room for more lipsticks, sooooo yeah. I had no idea that I even had that many until a friend of mine sat me down and said… “Caroline, how many lipsticks do you have already, you bought more?’ and to that I replied, “Yeah, but I don’t have these colours and this is a super long lasting lipstick that I need to try out.” That and well, the colours were really pretty and I’m just obsessed with a statement lip.

I have found the breakthrough in lipsticks from Rimmel London called Provocalips 16HR kiss proof lip colour, and when it says kiss proof, it most certainly is! Now I don’t think I’ve ever worn lipstick for 16 hours but 11 hours is close enough. Once applied the colour has amazing pigment and is true to what is shown on the packaging. A two step system where step 1 is to apply the lip colour and step 2 is to pop on the sealer or clear gloss on top to hold it altogether.

When I first applied the lipstick it is a bit sticky but all goes a way once set and dry. The best part of this is that it doesn’t come off, I have a coffee and eat oily foods (not everyday) and it’s just locked into place. For myself I didn’t even find it drying and it was so incredibly comfortable to wear. I bought it for $12.95 AUD on sale of course, that’s why I bought three, but it usually retails for $17.95.

If anyone else has tried this and loves it like me, let me know and until next time..

Byeee! With love from myself and all my glorious lipsticks. xx

My little benefit city

Sometimes when you go shopping, you either shop because

1. you’re bored

2. you need to get things

3. you’re looking for a gift or

4. you just want to buy something for yourself  and even though it may be intended to give as a gift, it ends up being used by you….

This is a little post called .. presents to myself, a.k.a I didn’t really want to give it to anybody because I wanted to use it for myself and it was a great deal!

So we all know now, I am obsessed with makeup that when it comes to throwing old makeup I haven’t used in a while, I will have to literally ask myself, will I use this tomorrow or within a week, maybe a month, or even perhaps when the season changes, will I use it.

I went on a major throwing spree today, if I hadn’t used a product within at least 3 months, it had to go because I’ve had some serums that have been sitting there for years that I used to use but stopped because my skin went through a mass breakout two years ago and I just didn’t want to use anything, regardless it’s time to replace a couple of things.

I picked up the cutest little Benefit box gift which came with a full sized They’re Real mascara (my fav), full sized Stay don’t stray eye primer in light/medium, 75mL of Porefessional and a small bottle of the Gimme brow which I was dying to try out.

I actually double up that eye primer as a concealer. It really helps to brighten under my eyes and cover those dark circles which came out of nowhere and the gimme brow really fills in my brows, I only wish the box set I bought had the dark brown instead of the light one. I’ve also started using the box to store my lipsticks seeing as my collection is growing.

I’ve also been obsessing over different fragrances, so I picked up four of these eau de toilettes, each a different smell and has the cutest packaging ever! I also intend to put in four different photos in the windows.  A cute little makeshift photo frame, because the box is just way too nice to throw away.

Not too sure if they’re in store anymore, but if you do have one, maybe some of my ideas have helped you and until time…

Byeeeee! xx.
