Skin after Easter: Foreo Luna review

I’m pretty sure it’s safe to say that I’ve had way too many chocolates over this Easter break and what happens when you eat too much chocolate, you break out, well for me at least.

This blog post today, is all about my new favourite cleansing tool for my face. I am currently in love with the Foreo Luna for combination skin. Now I have been eyeing this baby out for years and I never could completely commit because it was just so out of my price range. It currently retails for $249 AUD but I do know the mini ones are $179 AUD. I found this on sale at David Jones for 30% off and you bet I jumped up and down with excitement and monkey gripped that thing until I took it to the register. Sometimes I really love sale time!

I decided to grab the Foreo Luna because even thought the mini is so cute and travel convenient, I love how the flipside of the Foreo Luna helps with the ageing process. One side is great for cleansing and getting rid of all the dirt, sweat and makeup that’s stuck in you pores but the other side helps with anti ageing just by placing them on specific points of your face, they recommend 12 seconds for each spot. I figured with a 10 year quality guarantee that when I start to get older, I will be loving this a lot more for my face and if you didn’t know that when you hit 25 years of age that’s when your anti ageing products come into play. So look for products that are global anti ageing, then you’ll know you’re covered.

When I first used this I noticed an immediate difference, my skin looked a lot more radiant and fresh. Not only did it cleanse effectively, I worry less about those little expression lines. I also realised how much makeup I was missing when washing my face with just my hands. My skin also felt super soft that I had to refrain myself from touching it. It also has 8 different speeds. A good guide I like to tell people when using cleansing tools is that the slower the speed the deeper the cleanse and the faster the speed the more superficial or on top cleansing it is.

I love how it’s 100% waterproof, non porous which means no bacteria sticks onto it, gentle on my skin and what really is amazing is that once fully charged (which only took up to one hour), you can use it up to a year before it needs to be fully charged again.

If anybody is thinking about getting this product, I highly recommend it, best life decision you will ever make and even if you’re unsure, check out the reviews on their website. Don’t forget, the cleaner your skin, the better your products will absorb.

Hopefully you’ve enjoyed this post and found out some useful information and I’ll be back with another blog soon.

Love, Caroline xx.

Products to help with PORES and blackheads

.. I never realised how big my pores were until I started using these products.

Like any girl, a magnifying mirror is not my best friend, it really shows EVERYTHING! From open pores, to blackheads and that little hair that you thought you tweezed to only find out that it’s still there, you only snapped the hair, instead of pulling it out from the root!

In terms of skincare, I decided to switch up my serum. I am now currently using Lancome Visionnaire advanced skin corrector. I was really drawn to this serum not only because pores are an issue, but I’m starting to notice a little bit of smile lines happening and I really wanted my skin to be a bit more even in texture. After what I put my face through in beauty college, with the facials once a week which completely broke me out, my skin has now only just started to look a lot more smoother, a lot more even and it’s all thanks to this beautiful product!

I’m also really loving how small my pores are looking. It’s such a lightweight serum that I enjoy putting on morning and night. It does also have a scent to it, but it’s definitely not overwhelming when you put it on and I’ve seen great results from this and I love it!

Another product I use is this Glamglow Youthmud masque. I have heard countless spiels on how much people love this product, so when I stepped into Mecca Maxima and found that they had a little baby one, I had to get it. First of all, the price on this thing better mean it’s a really good product. I believe I paid $23 for 15g of this, I was really hoping it would work.

Now I was warned from a friend that she felt a burning stinging sensation as she was using this. Despite the fact that it is a tingling exfoliant mask, I was not anticipating it to sting that much and I’ve used many masks in my life. Although there has been a lot of dispute on whether or not this product was safe to use and although I did feel like it was really stinging, after I washed it off, my skin felt extremely soft, super smooth and it worked those blackheads out of my pores. My pores also looked like they never existed and I’m always really cautious with anything I put on my skin, and it didn’t leave any redness or bumps or any signs that I was allergic to the product, so I think I will keep on using it, because I love the results and if you’re daring, you can too.

Last but not least, primer. I have been on the search for a good primer, since I found out that primers existed. I never really found one I liked until I met Benefit POREfessional. Not only is this  my little secret to a flawless foundation, I always get heaps of compliments about my makeup when I use this. It definitely minimises the appearance of my pores and unlike other primers I’ve tried, its glides over my face and I only need the tiniest amount. The product is also flesh coloured but still blends into the skin really well.  I would definitely give this a go if you’re looking for a new primer.

Benefits of coffee scrubs

I think everybody and their families know that I absolutely LOVE my coffee. The smell makes me go a little crazy inside and I will crave it until I get some coffee in me, and you best believe that if it tastes like horrible chocolate water, it shifts my mood almost instantaneously and it just does weird things to me, why, I do not know!

I first heard about coffee in scrubs when I was studying beauty therapy. I would always insist on a coffee scrub whenever we did spa mud wraps in class as it was so detoxifying for the body and because coffee is a natural antioxidant it helps to target cellulite and boost circulation in whichever area you apply it.  It also always left my skin a lot more toned, refreshed and renewed.

A current range I have been loving at the moment is made in New Zealand called The Aromatherapy Co. Therapy Range Coffee Body Scrub with Cocoa vanilla & cassia. I also use their body balm in the same range, it really helps to lock in that beautiful cassia (an essential oil) smell onto my body and leaves my skin smooth and super nourished!

We all know the benefits of what a good scrub can do for the skin, but if not, it essentially removes dead skin cells from the body, promotes skin regeneration and leaves your skin super smooth, nourished and makes you want to tell everybody to come and touch your skin. I really love this scrub in particular because unlike most scrubs, although it leaves your skin soft and smooth, this scrub contains the essential oil cassia in it which once the scrub is washed of, leaves an extremely nourished feeling to the skin, so my skin is super hydrated as well.

I use scrubs about once a week in the shower and use a body lotion or balm after I shower almost everyday, unless I’m super lazy which is bad, but it happens.

Let me know what current scrubs you all are using and until next time..

Byeeee! xx.

How I get rid of those once a month breakouts!

The time has come where my face decides to break out and of course it always has to happen when I’m about to see people I haven’t seen in a while, why face and hormones, why?! To be honest though, I think I’m slightly to blame this time, only because I recently went to the Easter show and bought a Tim Tam showbag, which in my defense came with a mug set, but I ate 4 chocolates and I broke out pretty much all over my face.

Although I shouldn’t be complaining and I’m pretty lucky that they’re only the tiny ones, I can’t help but get frustrated when I see all those dots. There are a few things that I do when I realise my face is starting to break out, the first is to chuck on a face mask. I’m not always the best with using a mask every week, it kind of only happens when I see those pimples or I’ve realised I haven’t used a mask in a while.  The other thing I use which my brother and sister come running to me when they get a stress pimple is Origins super spot remover 10mL.

Origins super spot gel 10mL

I pop a tiny bit of this gel consistent product onto my pimples and by morning, they’re already starting to get smaller. I’ve also found out that whilst I’ve been using this, my pimples don’t turn into those massive skin deep ones like they used to be, you know, the ones that hurt and squirt pus out after, so eww! After I’ve applied it, the area gets a bit tighter and that’s all thanks to the salicylic acid, I appreciate it killing my pimples.

Let me know some home remedies or what other products you use to get rid of those nasty pimples and until next time..

Byeee! From my 7 pimples which are slowly disappearing now. xx.
