Skin after Easter: Foreo Luna review

I’m pretty sure it’s safe to say that I’ve had way too many chocolates over this Easter break and what happens when you eat too much chocolate, you break out, well for me at least.

This blog post today, is all about my new favourite cleansing tool for my face. I am currently in love with the Foreo Luna for combination skin. Now I have been eyeing this baby out for years and I never could completely commit because it was just so out of my price range. It currently retails for $249 AUD but I do know the mini ones are $179 AUD. I found this on sale at David Jones for 30% off and you bet I jumped up and down with excitement and monkey gripped that thing until I took it to the register. Sometimes I really love sale time!

I decided to grab the Foreo Luna because even thought the mini is so cute and travel convenient, I love how the flipside of the Foreo Luna helps with the ageing process. One side is great for cleansing and getting rid of all the dirt, sweat and makeup that’s stuck in you pores but the other side helps with anti ageing just by placing them on specific points of your face, they recommend 12 seconds for each spot. I figured with a 10 year quality guarantee that when I start to get older, I will be loving this a lot more for my face and if you didn’t know that when you hit 25 years of age that’s when your anti ageing products come into play. So look for products that are global anti ageing, then you’ll know you’re covered.

When I first used this I noticed an immediate difference, my skin looked a lot more radiant and fresh. Not only did it cleanse effectively, I worry less about those little expression lines. I also realised how much makeup I was missing when washing my face with just my hands. My skin also felt super soft that I had to refrain myself from touching it. It also has 8 different speeds. A good guide I like to tell people when using cleansing tools is that the slower the speed the deeper the cleanse and the faster the speed the more superficial or on top cleansing it is.

I love how it’s 100% waterproof, non porous which means no bacteria sticks onto it, gentle on my skin and what really is amazing is that once fully charged (which only took up to one hour), you can use it up to a year before it needs to be fully charged again.

If anybody is thinking about getting this product, I highly recommend it, best life decision you will ever make and even if you’re unsure, check out the reviews on their website. Don’t forget, the cleaner your skin, the better your products will absorb.

Hopefully you’ve enjoyed this post and found out some useful information and I’ll be back with another blog soon.

Love, Caroline xx.

Products to help with PORES and blackheads

.. I never realised how big my pores were until I started using these products.

Like any girl, a magnifying mirror is not my best friend, it really shows EVERYTHING! From open pores, to blackheads and that little hair that you thought you tweezed to only find out that it’s still there, you only snapped the hair, instead of pulling it out from the root!

In terms of skincare, I decided to switch up my serum. I am now currently using Lancome Visionnaire advanced skin corrector. I was really drawn to this serum not only because pores are an issue, but I’m starting to notice a little bit of smile lines happening and I really wanted my skin to be a bit more even in texture. After what I put my face through in beauty college, with the facials once a week which completely broke me out, my skin has now only just started to look a lot more smoother, a lot more even and it’s all thanks to this beautiful product!

I’m also really loving how small my pores are looking. It’s such a lightweight serum that I enjoy putting on morning and night. It does also have a scent to it, but it’s definitely not overwhelming when you put it on and I’ve seen great results from this and I love it!

Another product I use is this Glamglow Youthmud masque. I have heard countless spiels on how much people love this product, so when I stepped into Mecca Maxima and found that they had a little baby one, I had to get it. First of all, the price on this thing better mean it’s a really good product. I believe I paid $23 for 15g of this, I was really hoping it would work.

Now I was warned from a friend that she felt a burning stinging sensation as she was using this. Despite the fact that it is a tingling exfoliant mask, I was not anticipating it to sting that much and I’ve used many masks in my life. Although there has been a lot of dispute on whether or not this product was safe to use and although I did feel like it was really stinging, after I washed it off, my skin felt extremely soft, super smooth and it worked those blackheads out of my pores. My pores also looked like they never existed and I’m always really cautious with anything I put on my skin, and it didn’t leave any redness or bumps or any signs that I was allergic to the product, so I think I will keep on using it, because I love the results and if you’re daring, you can too.

Last but not least, primer. I have been on the search for a good primer, since I found out that primers existed. I never really found one I liked until I met Benefit POREfessional. Not only is this  my little secret to a flawless foundation, I always get heaps of compliments about my makeup when I use this. It definitely minimises the appearance of my pores and unlike other primers I’ve tried, its glides over my face and I only need the tiniest amount. The product is also flesh coloured but still blends into the skin really well.  I would definitely give this a go if you’re looking for a new primer.

A few ways to use micellar water

When I first walked down the makeup and beauty aisle, I’m pretty sure only one brand had a Micellar Water. The next thing I knew all these other companies starting pumping out their own micellar water and I now have no idea which one I want to use next.

If you don’t already know micellar water is a cleansing water which helps to remove any makeup, dirt or grime off your skin, but also helps to soothe your skin as well. I’m not the biggest fan of makeup wipes, so when I purchased my first micellar water, it’s pretty much all I use. When it comes to removing my makeup after a really long day and all I want to do is get into the shower, using a micellar water really gets the makeup off quickly without rubbing or stretching my skin like makeup wipes do.

I always use a cotton pad to remove my makeup and once that micellar water is on, it’s as if all the makeup on my face is being drawn onto that cotton pad and the best part is it doesn’t leave any residue on my skin and leaves my skin feeling so soft.

So we all know now that it’s a great way to remove makeup, but here are a few other ways I like to use my micellar water.

Prepping my skin: Before I apply my makeup, I give my face a sweep over with some micellar water on a cotton pad. I find that this preps my skin, gets rid of any excess oil, but also after I’ve applied my foundation, it gives my skin a beautiful glow and I’m all about that life right now.

Prepping my eyelids: I love a good smokey eye and well, any type of eye makeup, so ensuring that it lasts day to night, I need my eyelids to be prepped and oil free. Your eyelids are surprisingly oily, don’t believe me? Grab your finger and swipe across. Gross right? So I like to swipe my eyelids over with a bit of micellar water on a cotton pad and I’m ready to go. This is also a better option then using toner, some toners can be harsh and can you  imagine the poor skin on our eyelids, they would not be happy.

So that’s all I’ve got for today’s post, let me know if you guys have a specific way to use your micellar water and until next time..

Byeeee! OH, also which micellar water should I use next? xx.

My Spring/Summer skincare routine (night)

It’s getting hot in hereeeeeee as the rapper Nelly would say and I completely agree and also apologies for now getting that song stuck in your head.

It is no secret that I’m not the biggest fan of hot weather, the sweat, the INTENSE sun and a whole lot of stickiness that I just don’t look forward to, however with a new season means a change in skincare and hoping that I don’t break out from the sweat!

My favourite cleanser that I have been using is Origins Checks and Balances frothy face wash. This stuff leaves my face squeaky clean and I LOVE IT!

I’ve also jumped back on the toner wagon and I am currently using Origins Zero Oil pore purifying toner which really cleanses up my pores and I’ve actually noticed a difference in pore size.

I’ve also started using a serum during my night routine and I am loving Antipodes Skin brightening & tone correcting serum. This stuff is fantastic if you don’t like that heavy oily feeling that some serums can give you and my skin seriously looks so bouncy in terms of tone, I highly recommend this stuff!

I then follow up with a new moisturiser I have been trialing for a couple of months now and it is the BioElixia Multi V Moisturising Lotion. This lotion has a tonne of Vitamins in it that are so great for my skin in general and it leaves my skin super hydrated after being in air conditioning all day and we all know how bad air conditioning can be for our skin

As for eye cream, I use People for Plants eye cream, I do love this because it’s not too rich or heavy for the skin around my eyes, it doesn’t brighten the area as it says it does, but I do love how it hydrates the area

I love taking care of my skin especially when I use products that I love, so let me know some of your favourite skin care goodies and until next time..

Byeee! xx.
